Fertility Preservation
Freezing eggs, sperm or embryos can protect your chance of a family in the future, whether for personal reasons or before medical treatment.
Special Areas of Expertise
Protecting your options for a family later
Fertility preservation means storing eggs, sperm or embryos for future use. Some people choose it to delay parenthood. Others need it urgently before cancer treatment or surgery that may affect fertility. Freezing uses vitrification, a fast method that protects the cells.
Thinking about fertility for the future can raise many emotions. Clear information helps you decide calmly.
Dr Jasdev explains what freezing can and cannot offer, and arranges urgent care when time is short.
A plan that starts with your results
Your age, history, test results and goals are reviewed before any treatment is suggested.
Clear reasons for each step
You will know why a test or medicine is recommended, what it can do and where its limits are.
Care that stays connected
Reviews are planned around how you respond, your cycle timing and your next decision.
What fertility preservation gives you
- Eggs, sperm or embryos stored at their current quality
- Urgent planning when medical treatment is close
- Honest guidance on realistic chances later
How your care is planned
Every stage answers three questions: what is happening, why it matters, and what comes next. The plan is reviewed at each stage and adjusted when needed.
Review your reasons, health and egg or sperm tests
Choose egg, embryo or sperm freezing
Complete freezing and arrange secure storage
Your options
Women can freeze eggs, or embryos with a partner, after about two weeks of stimulation. Men can freeze sperm, usually within days. In urgent cases, stimulation can start at any point in the cycle. Storage is reviewed regularly, with consent forms covering future use.
Who may benefit
Women who want to delay pregnancy, people facing cancer treatment or surgery that may affect fertility, and those with conditions that may reduce fertility early.
What to expect
Tests are arranged quickly. For women, treatment takes around two weeks, with egg collection under sedation. You will sign consent forms and receive details of storage.
How Dr Jasdev works with you
He brings together experience in fertility and gynaecology, and he explains things in plain language. Advice is based on current evidence and on what matters to you. You will always know what the next step is and why it has been suggested. He sees couples from Kuala Lumpur and across Malaysia, as well as some who travel from neighbouring countries.
What to bring to your appointment
Your records help Dr Jasdev understand your history quickly, so more of the visit can go to your questions. If you cannot find everything, bring what you have.
- Any recent AMH or semen results
- A letter from your treating doctor, if relevant
- Questions about storage and costs
