Diagnostic & Operative Hysteroscopy

A thin camera in the womb finds problems such as polyps, fibroids or scar tissue, and many can be treated in the same short procedure, with no cuts.

Hysteroscopic Surgery

Surgical care

Finding and treating problems inside the womb in one visit

Diagnostic hysteroscopy looks inside the womb with a narrow telescope passed through the cervix. Operative hysteroscopy uses fine instruments through the same telescope to treat what is found. This includes removing polyps, some fibroids, scar tissue or a septum.

Because there are no cuts on the tummy, recovery is usually quick.

Dr Jasdev plans each hysteroscopy with your symptoms and fertility goals in mind.

01

Careful assessment before surgery

Scans, symptoms and past operations are reviewed, so surgery is only suggested when it is likely to help.

02

Fertility kept in mind

If you hope to conceive in future, surgery is planned to protect your womb, tubes and ovaries as far as possible.

03

Clear recovery guidance

You will know what recovery involves, when to return to normal activities and when your review is due.

What hysteroscopy gives you

  • Diagnosis and treatment in a single procedure
  • No cuts on the tummy and a quick recovery
  • Care that protects the womb lining for future pregnancy

How your care is planned

Each stage is explained so you know why surgery is being considered, what it involves and how recovery will go. You can take time to decide.

01

Review your symptoms, scans and fertility plans

02

Plan the procedure for the days after your period

03

Treat any problem found and explain the results

How the procedure works

The telescope is passed gently through the cervix, and fluid opens the womb so the lining can be seen on a screen. Simple checks can be done as an outpatient with pain relief. Longer operative procedures are usually done under sedation or a general anaesthetic, and you go home the same day.

Who may benefit

Women with abnormal bleeding, polyps or fibroids inside the womb, suspected scar tissue or a septum. It also helps with recurrent miscarriage, implantation failure, or a lost or stuck coil.

What to expect

Most women go home the same day. Cramping and light bleeding for a few days are common. You can usually return to normal activities within a day or two, and any tissue removed is sent for testing.

How Dr Jasdev works with you

He combines surgical and fertility experience, and he explains each option plainly, including when surgery may not be needed. Plans follow current evidence and your hopes for the future. You will have time to ask questions before anything is decided. Women see him from Kuala Lumpur and across Malaysia, and some travel from neighbouring countries.

Your questions about hysteroscopy

What is the difference between diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy?

Diagnostic hysteroscopy looks inside the womb. Operative hysteroscopy also treats problems, such as removing polyps or fibroids, using fine instruments.

Who is it suitable for?

Women with bleeding problems, suspected growths or scarring in the womb, and some women with fertility problems or recurrent miscarriage.

What tests are needed first?

A pelvic ultrasound, and sometimes a saline scan. A pregnancy test is done on the day.

Is it painful or risky?

Cramping is common and is managed with pain relief or anaesthesia. Rare risks include infection, bleeding and injury to the womb, which are explained in advance.

Why see Dr Jasdev for hysteroscopy?

He combines surgical care with a fertility focus, so the womb lining is treated gently and your future plans are considered.

How do I book?

Call or WhatsApp the clinic. The procedure is usually timed for just after your period.

This page is general information and does not replace a consultation. Whether surgery suits you, and its risks, recovery and alternatives, should be discussed with Dr Jasdev based on your own history.
