Fibroids
Common growths in the womb can cause heavy bleeding, pressure or fertility problems. Care ranges from monitoring to surgery that keeps the womb.
Special Areas of Expertise
Choosing the right fibroid treatment for your stage of life
Fibroids are noncancerous growths of muscle in the womb. Many cause no symptoms, while others lead to heavy periods, pain, pressure or difficulty conceiving. Treatment depends on their size, their position and your plans for pregnancy.
Being told you have fibroids does not always mean you need surgery.
Dr Jasdev offers the full range of options, from monitoring and medicine to hysteroscopic, keyhole and open surgery.
Your symptoms taken seriously
Your history, symptoms and any past results are reviewed before a plan is suggested.
Options explained clearly
You will hear the benefits, limits and risks of each option, including simply monitoring.
Care that stays connected
Reviews are planned around your diagnosis, how treatment is working and any plans for pregnancy.

How your care is planned
Each step is designed to answer what is causing your symptoms, what matters most to you, and what to do next. The plan is reviewed as results come in.

Treatment options
Small fibroids without symptoms can be monitored. Medicines can reduce bleeding or shrink fibroids for a time. Fibroids inside the womb are removed by hysteroscopy, and others by keyhole or open myomectomy. Hysterectomy is an option once your family is complete.
Who may benefit
Women with fibroids causing heavy bleeding, pain or pressure, and women with fibroids who are trying to conceive or having IVF. It also helps women who have been told they need a hysterectomy and want to know all their options.
What to expect
Your first visit reviews your symptoms and scans. A detailed ultrasound or MRI maps the fibroids. You will discuss the options and agree a plan that suits you. If surgery is chosen, anaemia is treated first so you recover more easily.
How Dr Jasdev works with you
He combines gynaecology and fertility experience with clear, unhurried explanations. Treatment choices follow current evidence and take your future pregnancy plans into account. You will always know why a test or treatment is being suggested. Women see him from Kuala Lumpur and across Malaysia, and some travel from neighbouring countries.
What to bring to your appointment
Bringing these helps Dr Jasdev see the full picture and make the most of your visit. If you cannot find everything, bring what you have.
- Scan or MRI reports
- A diary of bleeding and symptoms
- Your plans for pregnancy

Will they come back?
Your questions about fibroid care
What are fibroids?
They are noncancerous growths of muscle in or around the womb, and they are very common.
Who should seek care?
Women with heavy periods, pain or pressure, and those with fibroids who want to conceive.
What tests are needed?
A pelvic ultrasound, sometimes an MRI, and a blood count to check for anaemia.
Is treatment risky?
Medicines have side effects that are explained first. Surgery carries risks such as bleeding and infection, and recovery depends on the operation.
