Dr Jasdev Singh
Endometriosis & Endometrioma Surgery
For women hoping to conceive, surgery for endometriosis and ovarian endometriomas is timed and carried out to protect egg reserve as far as possible.
Fertility Preserving Gynaecological Surgery
Treating endometriosis while protecting your egg reserve
Endometriomas are cysts on the ovary caused by endometriosis. Removing them can ease pain and may help natural conception, but it can also lower egg reserve. For women who want children, the decision to operate, and how, needs careful thought.
Many women feel torn between treating pain and protecting fertility. You do not have to make that choice alone.
Dr Jasdev weighs your pain, egg reserve, age and plans before recommending surgery, IVF, or both.
Careful assessment before surgery
Scans, symptoms and past operations are reviewed, so surgery is only suggested when it is likely to help.
Fertility kept in mind
If you hope to conceive in future, surgery is planned to protect your womb, tubes and ovaries as far as possible.
Clear recovery guidance
You will know what recovery involves, when to return to normal activities and when your review is due.
What fertility focused surgery gives you
- A decision on surgery that considers your egg reserve
- Gentle techniques to protect healthy ovarian tissue
- A clear plan for trying naturally or IVF afterwards
How your care is planned
Each stage is explained so you know why surgery is being considered, what it involves and how recovery will go. You can take time to decide.

How surgery protects fertility
Before surgery, AMH is checked so the effect on egg reserve can be judged. During surgery, the cyst wall is removed carefully, keeping healthy tissue, and heat is used sparingly. If reserve is already low, eggs or embryos may be frozen before surgery.
Who may benefit
Women with endometriosis or endometriomas who hope to conceive, particularly those with pain, large cysts, or a low or borderline egg reserve.
What to expect
Keyhole surgery usually means going home within a day, with recovery over two to three weeks. You will leave with a plan for when to try naturally, or when to start IVF, based on what was found. Your AMH may be checked again a few months after surgery if fertility treatment is planned.
How Dr Jasdev works with you
He combines surgical and fertility experience, and he explains each option plainly, including when surgery may not be needed. Plans follow current evidence and your hopes for the future. You will have time to ask questions before anything is decided. Women see him from Kuala Lumpur and across Malaysia, and some travel from neighbouring countries.

Your questions about endometriosis surgery and fertility
What is fertility preserving endometriosis surgery?
It is surgery for endometriosis and ovarian cysts planned to protect egg reserve and the reproductive organs.
Who is it suitable for?
Women with endometriosis who hope to conceive and have pain, large cysts or other reasons for surgery.
What tests are needed first?
An AMH test, a detailed ultrasound or MRI, and a semen analysis for your partner.
Is it painful or risky?
Soreness is common for a few weeks. The main fertility risk is a fall in egg reserve, which is why the decision is made carefully. Surgical risks are explained in detail.
