Fertility Preservation

Fertility care

Planning ahead for a family you may want later

Elective fertility preservation means choosing to freeze eggs, or embryos with a partner, for personal rather than medical reasons. Many women consider it because of study, career, relationships or simply timing.

It is a big decision with emotional and financial sides. You should have all the facts before you choose.

Dr Jasdev gives a balanced view of what freezing can offer at your age, including its limits.

01

A plan that starts with your results

Your age, history, test results and goals are reviewed before any treatment is suggested.

02

Clear reasons for each step

You will know why a test or medicine is recommended, what it can do and where its limits are.

03

Care that stays connected

Reviews are planned around how you respond, your cycle timing and your next decision.

What planning ahead gives you

  • Eggs or embryos stored at their current age
  • A clear picture of your egg reserve now
  • Time to make family decisions with less pressure

How your care is planned

Every stage answers three questions: what is happening, why it matters, and what comes next. The plan is reviewed at each stage and adjusted when needed.

01

Check your egg reserve and general health

02

Choose between egg and embryo freezing

03

Complete stimulation and freeze the eggs or embryos

Your options

Egg freezing suits women without a partner, or who want to keep their options independent. Embryo freezing, using a partner’s sperm, is an option for couples. Both use the same stimulation and collection steps. Freezing earlier generally means better quality eggs.

Who may benefit

Women in their late twenties to mid thirties who want to delay pregnancy, and couples who want to postpone starting a family. Women with a low AMH for their age may want to consider it sooner.

What to expect

The first visit covers your plans, tests and questions. If you go ahead, treatment takes around two weeks from the first injection to egg collection. You will also discuss storage time, costs and consent.

How Dr Jasdev works with you

He brings together experience in fertility and gynaecology, and he explains things in plain language. Advice is based on current evidence and on what matters to you. You will always know what the next step is and why it has been suggested. He sees couples from Kuala Lumpur and across Malaysia, as well as some who travel from neighbouring countries.

What to bring to your appointment

Your records help Dr Jasdev understand your history quickly, so more of the visit can go to your questions. If you cannot find everything, bring what you have.

  • Any recent AMH or hormone results
  • Your recent cycle dates
  • A list of questions about timing and costs
Patient questions

What women often ask

Most couples arrive with several questions. These common ones can help you plan what to ask.

01

Am I too young or too old to freeze?

02

Should I freeze eggs or embryos?

03

How many cycles might I need?

04

What happens if I never use them?

Your questions about elective fertility preservation

What is elective fertility preservation?

It means freezing eggs or embryos by choice, to keep options open for the future, rather than because of a medical condition.

Who is it suitable for?

Women and couples who want to delay starting a family. A younger age at freezing usually gives more options later.

What tests are needed?

An AMH blood test, a follicle count scan, infection screening and a general health check.

Is it painful or risky?

Injections and scans are usually manageable. Egg collection is done under sedation. The main risk is overstimulation, which is monitored closely.

Why see Dr Jasdev for this?

He gives a balanced view of the benefits and limits, so you can make a decision that feels right for you.

How do I book?

Call or WhatsApp the clinic. A first visit and AMH test can be arranged at any time in your cycle.

This page is general information and does not replace a consultation. Whether a treatment suits you, and its risks and timing, should be discussed with Dr Jasdev based on your own history.
