Adenomyosis
When the womb lining grows into the muscle wall, periods can become heavy and painful. Treatment eases symptoms and takes your fertility plans into account.
General Gynaecology
Relief from heavy, painful periods caused by a thickened womb
Adenomyosis is when tissue like the womb lining grows into the muscle wall of the womb. The womb may become enlarged and tender. It commonly causes heavy periods, painful periods and pelvic pressure, and it can affect fertility.
It is often confused with fibroids or endometriosis, and it can occur alongside them.
Dr Jasdev explains the diagnosis and discusses treatments that suit your stage of life.
Your symptoms taken seriously

How your care is planned
Each step is designed to answer what is causing your symptoms, what matters most to you, and what to do next. The plan is reviewed as results come in.

How it is treated
Treatment includes pain relief, tablets to reduce bleeding and hormonal options such as the hormonal coil. For women trying to conceive, treatment is adjusted, and some benefit from hormone suppression before a frozen embryo transfer. Hysterectomy is considered only for women who have completed their family.
Who may benefit
Women with heavy or painful periods, an enlarged or tender womb, or difficulty conceiving where adenomyosis is suspected on scan.
What to expect
Your first visit covers your symptoms and history. A detailed ultrasound is usually the main test. You will discuss the options, with extra attention to fertility if you are planning a pregnancy.
How Dr Jasdev works with you
He combines gynaecology and fertility experience with clear, unhurried explanations. Treatment choices follow current evidence and take your future pregnancy plans into account. You will always know why a test or treatment is being suggested. Women see him from Kuala Lumpur and across Malaysia, and some travel from neighbouring countries.
What to bring to your appointment
